NEW CHAT
It looks like a lot of you have discovered the new facebook like chat on Filipina Eyes. I have not had the time to learn all the new features, but a gracious member took time to write up a blog on the new chat. You can check out the blog at:

If other members have any comments or would like to share with fellow members a feature you discovered when using the new chat, please comment on Vinny's blog. This way we will have one place where we can share how the chat works. You can even ask questions on Vinny's blog and hopefully another member will know the answer.
FILTER
The new chat uses the same filter system that is part of the site. The filter system is designed to try to stop spammers. Even though it may not be perfect, I rely on it a lot.
How it works is the filtering system will monitor members accounts. If there is a word (i.e. yahoo) that seems to dominate a members conversation (based on percentage) it may filter that word. In other words, the filter learns as it goes along and adapts accordingly.
It also has a great Report system and automatically sends me a report if it feels a member is spamming. My problem is if deleted every account based on the Report, than I may have no members left -- LOL. However, there are times I get fed up with a member spamming and will take the time to determine if the report is accurate or not. If it is, I hit the delete key and member, messages, blogs, etc is gone.
SCAMMERS
The new chat was added to help members from being scammed by other members. If a member goes off site to chat, it increases the chances of being scammed. I have written so much about scammers and their tactics, that you should have no problem finding info to read on the site. However, I will say this again. If you just met someone new and they are asking you for your yahoo chat or wanting to go off site, a red flag should be waving in your face. DO NOT give out your personal email or chat address until you had a chance to get to know someone. If you do give it out, they may pass it around the internet for all scammers to use. Now that we have the new chat in place, there really is no reason to go off site until you are 100% sure you are dealing with a good guy or lady. If you are serious about finding love, you should take this simple rule to heart and make sure you protect your personal email and chat address by getting to know someone here at Filipina Eyes before giving out any personal contact info.Good Luck to All Dan
