My views about marriage here in America

Gee how I wish to be happy about marriages here, but it's sad to say that marriages are in a sorrowful state. What I don't understand is why people get married, then get divorced, and then receive alimony and child support?! Are we Americans too in love with money so bad that we have to be two-faced creeps and destroy the true sanctity of marriage and love?! It's truly ridiculous that we place so much value on money rather than people.

Let me tell you this story...

About a couple of days ago, my co-worker Drew called me and told me about his wife. He was only four years younger than me and is married. Drew's wife lives in Long Beach, California about 60 miles away from where I live and they have a daughter together. When I talked to him, he felt quite down and has that I-don't-give-a-what attitude. He told me that his wife cheated on him, stole his wallet, and took his money from his bank account. To make matters worse, she even took his daughter. He worked ever so hard to build a family with her and for her to stab him in the back really makes me so mad that she would even be breathing on this planet (my apologies for my sentiments). Then he told me that his aunt was going to give him a BMW and that his wife then called him so they can talk. Talk?? Yeah right. When she heard that he was getting a BMW, she knows what she's doing-- she's just being a gold digger. So, hopefully Drew will divorce her and get custody of his daughter.

I can't believe that people would do that all for the money and for citizenship. That is why Dan has set up those rules because it's for our own good. Look, I believe in love and I believe in the sanctity of love. It really makes me so mad that people would do that to each other all for financial and personal gain. If any girl does that to me, after all the hard work and love I put into that relationship, then she will not like me very much because she will face a cold hard reality of losing someone who truly cares about her. If America is so complacent with the idea that you don't need a job as long as you marry a person who has wealth and social status, then where in the hell is true love?! If you can't love someone as deeply and honestly, then please don't EVER in your life marry someone if it's all for the wrong reasons. Marry the one you love for all the right reasons and NOT just so you get money!
