 This guy is a super nice guy, but I know his hormones are in high gear and with every new lady member, he finds himself falling in love again or should I say falling in lust again. He wanted to email me to let me know it was my fault that he couldn’t make up his mind. I told him to take his time and not to use those words “I love you” until he knew for sure she was the one. The goal of our site is pretty simple. We provide a place for people to meet. Once they meet, they are more than welcome to continue their relationship outside of our site. We are not match makers, we simply provide a place where members can tell others a little about themselves, what they are looking for and it is up to them if they want to get involved as friends, lovers or marriage. Obviously we have a niche since most of our lady members are from the Philippines. If you read my story, it isn’t too hard to figure out why. My wife is from the Philippines and our site was born because many emailed us wanting what we found. My first website was simply a site dedicated to my wife. It was just pictures of her, of the Philippines and our story. It was from this site that we got hundreds of emails asking us how to find the same happiness we did. At first I told everyone to check out the Asian dating sites using google. Some of the ladies who contacted us, ask me if I would put their picture on our site. I saw no harm doing it, so I did. From that modest beginning things started to happen. Soon I had guys emailing me asking me about a lady on the site. Before I knew it, my site dedicated to my wife became a place for others to meet. My first real script in trying to organize things was a German script called 4images. It wasn’t really a dating script, but a photo gallery script. I did my best to modify it so it could be used as a place for people to place their image, profile and contact other members. 4images was a free script and at that time free was the only way I could afford to do what I was doing. I always knew that eventually I would have to break away from 4images but before I knew it I had 10,000 members and it made changing scripts tough. In 2009 I made the leap. I transferred as many images, profiles, etc from 4images to a new script called vldPersonals (this is the current dating script). The transfer did not go smoothly. From the 10,000 only about 1000 were transferred. Just about every waking and free moment I had, I spent trying to fix things. What I ended up doing was making sure that the most active members from 4images were transferred and did my best to notify all others of the new script. vldPersonals is not a free script. I own three licenses with each costing $199. Besides the initial price, I spent money modifying vldPersonals (for example My Status was added by modification). With the new script, came new requirements and a more costly server. But to be honest, the server cost is not that bad. Probably the most expensive aspect of running a dating site is the marketing. It is both time consuming and costly. I never try to predict the future, but hopefully vldPersonals will be around a long time. The developer is constantly updating the script and trying to improve it. I know the script is not perfect, but if you peek at the developers website, you will see that most webmasters are quite happy with it compared to some of the other scripts they had to deal with. I know I am, even though there are a few things I wish worked better (i.e. chat). So for my friend who said “This Dam Website” all I got to say is as long as I can afford to keep it running, it will be a free place for beautiful ladies and gentleman to meet.
