Getting what you Need


Have you ever heard the Rolling Stones lyrics  “you can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime, you get what you need.” When it comes to love, I wonder how many get what they need?

I’m far from a love expert, but one thing that usually holds true is a lot members will want looks or money when searching for love. In the short run, this may be enough to cure loneliness for a few moments, but I’m a firm believer that money or looks will not sustain love over time. It may sound like a cliche, but you really need to find someone who can be your friend when times are rough and you need someone to lean on. Looks won’t get you through an emotional crisis no matter how pretty or good looking you are. And I have met very few people where money could mend a broken heart. However, I do know some people who have the utmost respect, love and concern for each other that have survived tough times. Simply put, they had  exactly what they needed -- each other.

Don’t get me wrong, you can have looks, you can have money, but if that is all you have in a relationship without respect, friendship and concern for your partners emotional well being and happiness, who will you turn to in your hour of need. I’m lucky. I got a wife who I adore, who I think is sexy and beautiful  but is also there for me when life gets me down.

My hope is that everyone finds what they want but more importantly they get what they need to nourish love for a lifetime.
