Asian Party

Me and my wife went to one of her friends party the other day to celebrate their daughters graduation. One thing I come to learn, Filipinas will use any scenario or excuse to get together with friends. If one of them changed their nail polish from red to pink, they would throw a party.

My experience has been that Filipinas love to socialize. The men who come along, mingle around the grill drinking bear while the ladies are a whirlwind of expressions. As they talk their hands are in the air, they are up and down and moving around with every word being played out with some kind of gesture. If they are talking about dancing, they are dancing. If they are talking about cooking, their gestures are doing the cooking, etc.

The last thing I want to do is stereotype, but in general a room full of Filipina ladies talking, laughing, and having fun is a sight that most husbands enjoy. They learn that a Filipina’s energy seems to increase after an enjoyable gathering with friends. When they get home, she has more energy to burn and the husband is the beneficiary of that energy. If she was plugged in to a conversation that stimulated all the right buttons, you will be in for an exhausting but enjoyable evening.

I remember at my wedding, my mother was stunned by the Filipina Ladies’ beauty. I remember sitting at our table and my mother commenting, “there sure are a lot of beautiful ladies here.” I didn’t disagree.

Someone once told me that Filipinas love to mimic western television. They would watch our shows and take on the dress and personality of some of their favorite stars. Be it true or not, I do know that my wife can blend in with any crowd be it at a sophisticated gathering or at a hell bender party of booze and chips. She can dress up in a long gown or wiggle her butt in a mini skirt. I can’t be happier.

If you are questioning how domestic a Filipina can be, don’t. They can take care of what needs to be done around the home with the best of them and later curl up by you on the couch to watch your favorite show together. We share our home chores, but when it comes to cooking, I can’t hold a candle to my wife’s meals. But I don’t mind doing my part by eating what she cooks.

Anyways, if you are as lucky as I am, your lady will not only be a wife, but a best friend to share your day in and day out struggles with. My wife seems always to be happy – singing and loving. I can’t imagine anyone not wanting a Filipina wife that makes every day a day of sunshine.
