Email on our Blogs

I got an email from a subscriber upset about out blogs. All I can do is say "sorry".

I'm currently working on getting our blogs back up and running. Believe me, I'm as upset as the users are about them being down. It happen when we were being attacked by an unknown bot.

Let me elaborate a little. About a month ago our server was being crawled by an unknown bot. This bot would shut down the site or slow it down to a crawl. It may of caused some other harm, but I can't verify. During the efforts to find the problem, I was also taking care of a spamming issue concerning the blogs. Boom -- I screwed up and got my signals crossed and deleted the script for the blog when I didn't mean to.

There is always a silver lining when things like this happen. It caused me to down load the latest blog script (wordpress) and so far I'm quite please at the new features -- especially the anti-spamming features. Meanwhile, I continue to work on the new blog update and should be back up and running in full stride within a few days.

If you are a webmaster and have not looked into blogs you are missing a huge marketing tool. I guess it depends on the software so I will qualify that by saying make sure you get the right blog software -- like wordpress. Our blog software had a steady customer base of subscribers. Wordpress automatically updates all blog directories and social networks. It is a marketing gem, it is easy to install (by far the easiest php script I ever installed), easy to maintain and has tons of plugins if need be.
