Google - The Webmaster's Cornerstone

It's amazing how many tools and features are available through google. One day it will provide all the tools a webmaster will need to create and maintain a site.

For myself, I use a handful of google tools. There are times I wonder if there is something I'm overlooking.

Here is my list.

1. Adwords. This is how I advertise the site. It can be costly. I use it on average 3 times a week.

2. Adsense. These are those ads on my site to help with the expenses of running Filipina Eyes.

3. Google Site Map. I create a google site map and upload it through my google tools account. I don't do this everday. Basically I crawl my site for all the links and create a XML file to upload to my google webmaster tools account. I do it about once every 6 months unless for some reason I have a major overhaul on my site than I may do it sooner.

4. Google Webmaster Tools. Besides a sitemap, there are other tools to help you maintain your account. I really have not delved into all the tools like I should.

5. Google Toolbar. I use it for several things, but I like the built in spell checker, link checker and pr checker.

The above are the main tools I use on a steady basis. However, I have played around with a lot of google tools, especially when they first come out.
